Sun City

Sun City is Menifee’s original 55+ community and one of the largest in the region, with 4,762 homes built by Del Webb and Presley Co. from 1962 to 1981. It was the second retirement community Del Webb started, and it covers about four square miles off McCall Boulevard, minutes from the I-215. Homes are a mix of single-family homes with two or three bedrooms and smaller attached homes with one or two bedrooms.

Every home belongs to the Sun City Civic Association, which runs three recreation centers, Civic Hall, Webb Hall, and North Town Hall, with two outdoor pools, a fitness center, woodworking, lapidary, and ceramics studios, billiards, and courts for tennis, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, and bocce. An activities director and more than 40 clubs keep the calendar full. The 18-hole golf course is open to the public, and the community isn’t gated.
