The Greens, Murrieta

The Greens is a golf course community in Murrieta, built around The Golf Club at Rancho California. The course is an 18-hole, par-72 Robert Trent Jones Sr. design that has been open for play since 1971. It is a public course, formerly known as the SCGA Golf Club, so you don’t need a membership to play it. The front nine runs over rolling ground with elevated tees and views across the Murrieta and Temecula valleys.

The community is made up of four named sections, each with its own boundary: Canterbury, Masters, Preserve, and Waverly, plus homes just outside those four that are still part of The Greens.

The homes

Most homes in The Greens were built between the late 1990s and the mid-2000s. They are mostly single-family homes, roughly 2,000 to 3,700 square feet, with three to six bedrooms. Some lots back directly onto the course. That is worth weighing on any home you look at: a fairway view brings light and open space, and it also brings golfers, carts, and the occasional stray ball.
